  5. Lanois is a master at creating soundscape ambience for songs to live in, and his pedal steel and guitar playing floating in the middle of all these spaces is beautiful. "Sketches" was used as background music for a moody car commercial iirc.
  6. Lanois' new release is an instrumental record that captures the often tense emotional dynamics of Eno's pioneering albums. Anchored by Lanois' emotive pedal-steel guitar playing, the album also features powerful contributions from master pianist Brad Mehldau and drummer Brian Blade. Dense textures evolve into delicate Mexican melodies, capturing the disquieting serenity of the landscapes of the /5(33).
  7. Right from the onset of "Two Worlds" it's a refreshing splash in the face to hear Daniel Lanois' pedal steel playing dance around a bed of guitar feedback; it serves as a reference point to some of his work on U2's The Joshua kaforsumatmelut.isbronmatpaddnerlucatortelesinccons.co 's Shine, Belladonna reveals a side of Lanois that is a treat to see. The vulnerable, contemplative side that was such a critical element to his work with.
  8. referencing Belladonna, LP, Album, Lanois on-point: acoustic+electric+pedal, a tapestry of textures & FX celebrating a dusty conception of beauty. Notes suspended in space, each awaiting its submersion into a barren soundscape subtly pregnant with that gentle, unique emotive experience that is the hope-nostalgia hybrid.
